Where it all began…
Hey I’m Olive, I am the founder of Ikigai Studios.
Here’s a little bit about me and why I’ve created this space.
It all started in 2019 when I decided to quit my job in engineering to become a tattoo artist. I have always wanted to start tattooing I just needed to commit myself to learning and growing and I am so glad I did. The journey is the most rewarding thing for me and I always feel as though I get so much value from every single person I get to meet everyday. I am incredibly grateful I get to do what I love everyday.

From 2019 to now I have worked in multiple studios, learning so much from every artist I’ve had the chance to work with. All of the studios I’ve been to has been so different from the next and this has given me so much insight to the industry. I feel every studio and artist I’ve met in the industry has helped in their own way to build the philosophy I have towards tattooing.
I have worked hard to create this space that is exceptionally clean while also feeling incredibly comfortable. The fact the studio is an appointment only, private space creates this feeling of comfort and relaxation. I feel the most important thing when getting a tattoo is the ability to safely and comfortably communicate exactly what you’d like to get without any judgement. The experience, in my opinion, should feel like a collaboration between client and artist as the client is the one that takes the piece home forever. I’m so grateful that my clients feel safe and happy enough to be completely honest about what they want and need from me tattoo-wise but also from the space.
Tattooing has had a stigma around it for years but with growing popularity, people are realising how sentimental and meaningful the art of tattooing actually is. From memorial pieces for lost loved ones, to scar cover ups, to spiritual reminders, tattooing is and always should be accessible to everyone. At Ikigai, we welcome everyone with any background, any story, we want to provide the space for you to be heard and accepted fully as you are. As we believe it should be.
With the entire experience being so relaxed, it gives us the chance to focus solely on the art.
